Greencable collects your scrap metal, this is how it works:

We'll just need a few details from you and once approved, one of our friendly team will deliver a bin to you!

Step 2. Gradually fill your bin with scrap metal

After completing a job or after a hard day's graft, simply throw your scrap straight into your Greencable bin.

Step 3. Tell us when your bin is full

Complete the quick and easy form on our website or call, text or email us. One of our team will be in touch to confirm a collection date.

Step 4. We collect and weigh your bin contents

Our professional team will manually sort the contents of the bin and weigh each material to provide the most accurate value.

Step 5. Receive payment for your scrap

Currently this is done via BACS and generally at the time of collection. However, please allow one working day in case of logistical or technical issues.

What size is the bin?

It is a 240L standard issue wheelie bin, just like those issued by your local council for rubbish and recycling.

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

Nope, not a penny! We'll just need a few minutes of your time letting us know about what you do and how you intend to use the bin.

What if I don't accumulate that much scrap metal and cable?

There is no time limit in which to fill the bin. Whether it takes two weeks, two months or longer, we will be on standby to collect.

How do you collect a bin if I'm not there?

Most customers simply leave their bin in a secure location for us to access and empty. If you have any concerns then just let us know and one of our team will be glad to support.

How secure is my bin?

It’s best to leave your bin in a safe location when storing your scrap metal. During collection days, we stress this even more. If hidden well out of sight, we ask that you send us details of your hiding spot. Where possible, it’s preferable that someone is present when the collection takes place.

How do I know you’re weighing it correctly?

Our professional team will manually separate the items in your bin and weigh them accordingly to determine a final value. If you’d like to receive photographic evidence showing the materials on the scales we’ll be glad to do this for you.

What are your collection times?

We carry out collections between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Saturday, in accordance with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.

Do I need to fill the bin to the top?

Yes please. It’s important that the bin is filled to maximum capacity. If you require an earlier collection than scheduled or have other scrap metal items that you can’t fit into the bin, we’ll happily accommodate these requests where possible.

How quickly will I get paid?

We aim to pay at the point of collection, but please allow one working day in the event of any logistical or technical delays.

How do I get paid?

We currently use BACS payment for all transactions, however we are exploring other methods. If you have a particular preference, then do let us know.
